If you’ve always meant to visit the Château de Versailles but have never quite found the time, we have the perfect excuse. Versailles Fountains Show brings the grand gardens and dramatic fountains of Versailles to vivid life, and from the 21 June a spectacular fireworks show lights up the skies every Saturday night.
Wander the gardens to the sound of music as the Chateau’s fountains ‘dance’ in time. Visitors can follow a variety of trails to take in the garden’s secretive hideaways or head to the famous Neptune Fountain to see jets of water shoot high above its sculptured horses.
Plan your trip between late June and October to see the Royal Serenade of the Hall of Mirrors, when musicians and dancers in full authentic Baroque costume can be seen dancing at sunset. You’ll step back in time to the grand soirées of Louis XIV and see dresses swirling beneath golden chandeliers.
After dark the Fountains Night Show completes a day at Versailles in dazzling style. The Chateau’s gardens come alive with light and music thanks to the work of an expert team of stage-set artists – fountains glow with stunning light displays, lasers shoot across the night sky and surprising installations create a dream-like atmosphere. The Fountains Show culminates in a huge fireworks display by the Grand Canal every Saturday evening. Expect an unforgettable light-filled adventure.
