Following on the success of its May edition, the Grand Contemporary Art Market – Le Grand Marché d’Art contemporain – is back for a 44th edition, from October 30 to November 5, 2014 on the Place de la Bastille to offer new creations, each one more original than the last !
Attention, all lovers of Art, fairs, and markets of all kinds: this event is right up your alley !
Since its founding by Joel Garcia, the market, referred to as GMAC for short, is a delight for both professionals and novices.
On the famous Place de la Bastille in the 11th arrondissement, a very nice, lively part of Paris, some 500 painters, sculptors and photographers display their latest works and creations of all kinds.
Since the slogan of this market is making art accessible to everyone, the artists here sell their work at studio prices, all in a very friendly atmosphere where they take the time to explain the story behind their art and engage with customers. It’s a good opportunity to learn more about art and why not add to your collection !
Don’t miss the Photo/Drawing/Etching Area on Boulevard Bastille, located at the end of individual outdoor stalls. Free art workshops are held in the market, both for adults and for children, in order to share the art of drawing, sculpture, and painting with the public.
You now have to check it out, the last edition attracted over 40,000 people! Also, a new edition of the market is already scheduled for next spring, from April 30 to May 4, 2015, if you can’t make this one !
